— Free hotel nights for the next month will be available to residents of the city of Lafayette.
The city of more than 300,000 people is offering rates starting at $69.99 per night for one bedroom apartments and $79.99 for two bedroom apartments.
The price for a single bedroom apartment will go up to $149.99.
A rate of $299.99 will be charged for a four bedroom apartment.
A single occupancy unit will cost $349.99 while a three-bedroom apartment will cost only $279.99.
“It’s a great time to rent and get the money back for your investment,” said City Manager Scott Larkin.
Larkin says the offer is the first of its kind in the nation.
It’s designed to give residents the opportunity to get a first look at a new place and the chance to make an informed decision.
“Larkin said Lafayette is the only city in the state to offer rates for two bedrooms in two locations.
He said it will help residents understand what is available and the rate they are willing to pay for it.
Lakin said the city is offering its offer at a time when vacancy rates in Lafayette have been on the rise and the city expects a surge of new apartments.
It is also offering a rate hike to residents who rent two-bedroom units or share a room.
Lakeside and Lakeview are also offering rates to residents this month.LAFAYETTE, Ind.
— Residents of Lakeview, the second-largest city in Indiana, will be able to rent an apartment for the first time this month as part of a pilot program that began May 2.
The program is called the ‘First Month’ and it will be offered to residents in Lakeview.
Rates will start at $279 for a two-bedroom unit and $299 for a three bedroom.
Residents can also get a $200 discount on a three bed unit and an additional $250 discount on the same unit for residents who share a bedroom.
Lafayette, Indiana will also be offering rate discounts to its residents beginning at $29 per night in two- and three-bedrooms.
The rate increase will take effect April 9.
The Lafayette Hotel Association is hosting a series of online events throughout May to provide information and answers to residents about how the program will work.
