In the wake of Hurricane Katrina, the Gulf of Mexico was awash in people.
In the midst of the devastation, the people of Louisiana found ways to make the hurricane’s aftermath feel normal.
It was a perfect storm.
A new breed has taken root.
Now, as Louisiana recovers from the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, the state is seeing the resurgence of the gourmet hotel business.
Nowhere is this more evident than at the iconic Hotel Les Nouvelles in New Orleans.
Named after the Louisiana town of Les Nouvels where it’s located, Les Nouveaux is the most luxurious and opulent hotel in the region.
It is currently undergoing a $100 million renovation, according to the hotel’s official website.
But there’s a reason it’s called the “New Orleans of the Gulf.”
The hotel’s owner, Bill Marsellini, has spent years marketing himself to travelers who want to experience the city for what it really is.
The hotel opened in 2005 with a simple premise: If you love the Gulf, you will love the hotel.
The opening of Les Les Nouves opened the floodgates to the rest of the world.
When you go to a hotel, the hotel offers a “unique experience,” said Marsellinis marketing director, Jodi Haddad.
For those who have never been to New Orleans, it’s a magical city, and Marsellins marketing team has been doing everything they can to make it as comfortable as possible for guests.
The company recently opened a second boutique hotel, Les Les, a few blocks away from Les Nouvres.
The second boutique will be called the New Orleans of New Orleans hotel, and the new Les Les Les is the first luxury hotel in New York City to open its doors in 2017.
In an effort to attract travelers to the city, Marsellinis new hotel has also been offering free meals to guests for a year.
In 2016, Marcellus Williams, who owned a chain of chain restaurants in New Jersey, opened a restaurant in the same space.
He’s known for having an upscale restaurant experience, and his food has been praised by critics.
“The food is not only phenomenal, it is absolutely phenomenal,” said Williams.
“We are bringing a different kind of dining experience to New York.
It’s more sophisticated.
It feels like it’s being served by a real chef.
And it’s definitely going to be a good thing for the city.”
When you think about the food at Marsellis restaurants, you think of the dishes that he made at his home restaurant in Louisiana.
But he doesn’t consider himself an elite chef.
“I think it’s more about making great food,” he said.
“And that’s what I’m trying to do here.”
Marselli s restaurants have been a major draw for travelers, and he said he sees the hotel business as an extension of his business.
“It’s been a success, because it’s been the best part of my life,” he told the New York Daily News.
“To be able to have a business, to have that type of business, it makes it even better.”
The first hotel, Hotel Les, opened in 2009.
It has since expanded to include a boutique hotel and a second hotel, The New Orleans Hotel, in 2018.
The New York Times Magazine ranked it number one in its 2016 list of the 10 best luxury hotels in the United States.
Now that Marsellinas business has expanded to New Yorkers, he said, he has been approached by hoteliers from all over the world who want him to open a second restaurant in New Yorkers hometown.
But Marsellinos plans to remain local and stay focused on his hotel.
“When you’re in New Yorks real estate, you’re going to go to your friends and family and see them, so you’re not going to have to go everywhere,” he explained.
“If I get a call from an owner of a restaurant that’s close by, I’m like, ‘Wow, that’s nice.
I’m going to visit them.’

The next restaurant that opens in New YORK is going to make its way to New Y.A. Times Magazine’s Top 50 Restaurant in America list, which was published last week.
And the hotel has already received offers from restaurants in other states.
But the real star of the restaurant is the rooftop pool.
“There’s no better place to relax in New york, especially when you’re eating,” Marsell said.
But as for the hotel, Marsellingis says it will continue to serve its traditional, upscale dining experience.
“My goal is to make a place where people can relax,” he stated.
